Academic calendar

The academic year is divided in 2 semesters with both examinations.

  • Semester 1: mid of September – begin of February
  • Semester 2: begin of April – begin of August

! Please note: for this exchange, KU Leuven makes a selection among students who achieved a minimum of 68% in their previous years of study.

One of the following tests to provide evidence of English language proficiency: TOEFL (iBT 80) or IELTS (level 6) (more information).

The university offers Japanese language courses.

Credit Conversion:

  • English: TOEFL 80 / IELTS 6.5 Some Schools have stricter requirements
  • Japanese: JLPT N1
